Flute Instructor

Erica began playing piano at the age of 9, when her father purchased a small Casio keyboard from a pawn shop. A few notes in, and she was hooked on music, starting band as a flute player a year later. She began playing piano for her church at the age of 14 and has been a church pianist, organist, worship leader, and director for more than 30 years since.

Erica holds a degree in music education from the University of Tulsa. She is a certified instrumental and general music teacher for the state of Oklahoma, and has taught K-12 music as both a choir and band director. Currently, Erica works as accompanist for the Choctaw Nicoma Park Choir Program, where she has accompanied students in concerts and contests for 14 years. Recently, she has performed with the University of Tulsa SOMA Wind Ensemble.

Over the years she has offered private flute, piano, and voice lessons in a variety of studios as well as her home office, and is excited to join the staff of Maughan Studios, to continue instilling a love of learning music in her students.
